Johnson speaks about several initiatives underway designed to deliver on the school's mission. The first is Wellesley College's career education program, which is shifting the dis- cussion from "What do you want to do?" to "Who do you want to be?" Johnson under- stands that the college not only has a respon- sibility to motivate and prepare students to think about how they want to make their mark on the world, but also to provide guid- ance, tools, and support from their very first days on campus to graduation and beyond. And while some question the value of a lib- eral arts education in readying students for "A liberal arts education prepares students for the complex world in which we live.
