When was the last time you engaged in an activity simply for enjoyment, not for a serious or practical purpose? If it's hard to recall, it has been far too long. seven Stay Hydrated Studies have shown that dehydration leads to a higher level of stress hormones, which makes functioning that much harder. Your heart rate goes up, your breathing becomes shorter and faster, and you lose fluids. Generally speaking, we need between one-half to one ounce of fluid daily for each pound of our body weight, adjusted for heat, altitude, and exercise.
