Holidays Past Armando Salvatore Rossi tradition with her girls, she is proud that her grown daughters con- tinue a tradition from her youth — the first gifts the parents open on Christmas morning are hand-made creations from their children. Even though Caroline Wright, who now lives at Sunrise, was born post-Depression in the more prosperous post-World War II era, her favorite Christmas tradition revolved around the simple gift of song. Each year on Christmas Eve Caroline caroled house-to-house in Chestnut Hill. Along with her minister and a group of other children they performed a repertoire of popular hymns and songs including "O Come All Ye Faithful" and "Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer."
