The children's beautiful faces reflect joy and strength, but, for many, their lives are dom- inated by scarcity — too little food, medical care, and opportunities for schooling and work. On a Sunday morning in 2007, Janet Rose spoke to her fellow parishioners at the Wellesley Congregational (Village) Church about her concern for the children of Africa.
