station. Winchester native and former Harvard quarterback and first baseman Mike Lynch has been the WCVB principal sports anchor since 1985. WCVB chief meteorologist and so-called "dean of Boston meteorologists," Harvey Leonard, has been forecasting Boston weather for 40 years. (While a native of the Bronx, 40 years predicting Boston weather earns him honorary Bostonian status!) A 25-year veteran of Boston news, Groveland native and graduate of Emerson College Maria Stephanos co-anchors NewsCenter 5 at 6:00, 7:00 and 11:00 p.m. with Wellesley resident and Newton native Ed Harding, who has called WCVB home for almost 30 years.
