C A T A R I I / D R E A M S T I M E . C O M CREAM CHEESE BROWNIES Even those who are ambivalent about chocolate will dive into this easy and impressive dessert. Chocolate lovers, however, will swoon. 10 Tbsp. unsalted butter, cut into pieces Canola oil 1 cup and 2 Tbsp. all-purpose flour ¼ cup unsweetened cocoa powder ½ tsp. baking powder ½ tsp. salt 8 oz. semisweet or bittersweet chocolate, chopped 4 oz. cream cheese, softened at room temperature 1 ½ cups sugar 4 eggs n Preheat oven to 350 degrees. Brush a 9-inch square baking pan lightly with Canola oil. n In a small bowl, whisk 1 cup flour, cocoa, baking powder, and salt. n Put 8 Tbsp. butter and chocolate in a large heatproof bowl set over a saucepan of simmering water. Stirring over the heat until smooth, about 2 minutes. Remove bowl from pan and add 1 ¼ cups sugar; mix to combine. Add 3 eggs and mix. Add flour and cocoa mixture; mix until moistened. n In a medium-sized bowl, whisk cream cheese with 2 Tbsp. softened butter. Whisk in ¼ cup sugar, 1 egg, and 2 Tbsp. flour. Spoon chocolate batter and cream-cheese mixture into pan in alternating rows. With the tip of a sharp knife, swirl to marble. n Bake until a toothpick inserted in center comes out clean, about 50 minutes. Cool in pan for 30 minutes. Cut and serve.
