The Webers of Weston Here's a funny math question: When does seven days equal eight years? When you're Alain and Magali Weber of Weston. Back in 2010, Alain left his home in the sunny south of France to help his company on a project at their Waltham, Massachusetts office. "I simply came for one week, to help the team automate software validation," says the software engineer. "The head of the Waltham office liked my work, and told me they wanted to hire more people. She asked if I wanted to join the U.S. team." Upon his return to France a week later, Alain discussed the offer with Magali, who was wrapping up the French academic year as an elemen- tary school teacher. "This was a big surprise, but we decided very quickly to go, because it was a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity," she states.
