Twenty-three years ago, the Bussgangs attended the ceremonies in Italy marking the 50th anniversary of the Battle of Monte Cassino. While the couple was joined then by a few of Julian's high school friends from Palestine who also were soldiers in Anders' Army, as well as by some 20 buses filled with dignitaries, veterans, and their com- panions, the Bussgangs participated without other family members joining them.
