Where better to begin than with my seventh-grade son if I wanted to get a student's perspec- tive on the ubiquitous use of iPads in the middle school classrooms. I found him in the kitchen. His school-issued iPad in front of him. During prime homework hours. Playing the video game "Basket and Ball." Me: "Sam, can you tell me about how you use the iPads in school?" Sam: "What?" Me: "What subjects do you use it in, and how do you use it?" Sam: (Looking intently at his iPad, eyes darting across the screen.) "Ummmmm, we use it in S T O C K B R O K E R / 1 2 3 R F .
