letter publisher's with all of the unseasonably warm weather we have been experiencing this year, one would think that the anticipation of summer would be a little less exciting for many of us. That certainly isn't the case for me, however, as the approach of summer brings with it a multitude of activities and experiences that can't be enjoyed at other times during the year. When it comes time for you to plan summer projects and fun activities to enjoy with your friends and family, you'll find plenty of help in this issue. If enhancing the garden is on your to-do list this year, you'll want to read our Green Scene article that details how to add vertical interest to your garden, giving it the extra height, color, and punch to wow your visitors. You'll also read about how some local homeowners are taking the fun outdoors this summer on "Dashing Decks" that provide gorgeous spaces for entertaining, dining, or just relaxing and enjoying a summer breeze. One of my favorite things to do in the summer is explore new areas in our towns. In "Open Spaces" you'll BETH FURMAN beth@wellesleywestonmagazine.com learn more about the parks and trails that are right here at our doorstep, and some of the stories behind how they came to be may surprise you. We are so fortunate that the people who lived here before us had the foresight to preserve open spaces so that future generations could cherish them in equal measure. If you're up for a little weekend travel after you've experienced the local scene, our Excursions article will point you in the direction of some incredible art museums in New England that are just a short drive away. With the publication of the summer issue we are also excited to announce that a digital version of the magazine is available on our Web site at www.wellesleywestonmagazine.com, or you can link in by check- ing out wellesleywestonmagazine.epubxp.com. Our readers have been asking for this and on behalf of all of us at WellesleyWeston Magazine, I'm pleased to say that you can now read every article and see every adver- tisement online as well as access additional information through live links to other Web sites. We will also be continuing some of our articles on our blog, wwmblog.com, and, as always, we will post local events and information and encourage you to contact us with news for us to add to the blog. As is always the case, there are many people to thank for enhancing the beauty, quality, and content of the magazine. I'd like to thank all of you who supplied photos for this issue, in particular Jan Gleysteen and Brian Smith. I'd also like to thank our advertisers, old and new, for their continued business and support. Happy summer to all!
