Finding A College That Fits Whitman College, Walla Walla, WA Yale University—and NESCAC (New England Small College Athletic Conference) schools—Amherst College, Bates College, Bowdoin College, Colby College, Connecticut College, Hamilton College, Middlebury College, Trinity College, Tufts University, Wesleyan University, and Williams College—as well as other popular schools in the East. Rick Rizoli, Director of College Counseling at The Rivers School; Julie Trask, Director of Guidance at Wellesley High School; and inde- pendent educational counselors Susan Case of Wellesley and Tim Lee of AHP Educational Consulting of Sudbury all offer their perspectives on hidden gems and up-and-coming schools that families with col- lege-bound students should have on their radar screens. Susan Case notes another practical benefit to looking outside of New England: "Often students will find more merit scholarship money in other parts of the country.
