artist profile "enthusiasm for life" began to work in shorter and shorter lines. Returning to her journals entries, she would highlight the descriptions and insights that resonated with her the most, turning her ramblings into crisp, elegant poetry. She loved the efficiency of poems, "how you could say so much with so littleā€¦" A full summer of sailing adventures would later become: In the soft swim we cast off, free midday from its moorings, haul up sail after sail white as wings, and, as the wind builds, we unfold cresting, coasting together, ride down afternoons. It came as no surprise when she chose to study historical narratives in college and pursue a master's degree in education, after which she taught children how to mine their own experience to uncover the essential kernels from which their own poetry could be derived. In the last twenty years she has cultivated, refined, and branded this process, which has come to be known as the Discoveriesā„¢ method, and broad- ened its application. Businesses have worked with Carol to create com- pelling private placement memorandums. Boston University Law School has hired her to teach advanced trial law students how to distill the essence of a case and effectively tell their clients' stories. Students seeking a PhD have trusted her to help articulate their theses. Writers, dancers, and musicians have sought her out to help them communicate the underlying message of their work and move forward when their progress was stymied.
