The Board of Directors, shown here, is responsi- ble for the financial well-being of the Society, which relies on its friends in the community for funds to sustain its mission: to educate and inspire through programs and events, to provide college scholarships, and to collect and preserve documents and artifacts related to the town's history. The Society serves as an historical resource center for the town but receives no funding from state or town tax rolls.
