Entrepreneur.com defines a mompreneur as a female business owner who is actively balancing the role of mother and the role of entrepreneur. The town of Wellesley has its own set of enterprising mothers. The career choices for these mothers run the gamut from owning a gift and monogramming business, to making freeze dried edamame, to running a law firm. Some have started in these careers out of school and created their businesses prior to hav- ing children, and others have changed careers to find something that would provide them with the flexibility to be with their children. But their struggles and joys in managing a business and parenthood are similar, as they work to grow their business and make it in time to pick up their chil- dren from school. Peggy Collier, Cruncha Ma-Me As the daughter of a first generation immigrant and entrepreneur, it is probably not surprising that Peggy Collier is a mompreneur. "From an early age I watched my father start, work hard, sell, and recreate his business. There is no doubt that this influenced me." Collier's father, who came to the United States with a PhD in mechanical engineering, started by working for GM.
