Trained as a classical violinist at Oberlin College, over the years she has played with symphonies, chamber and pops orchestras, chorale societies, and so many dance bands she long ago lost track of the count. While growing up in St. Louis she always had a caring way about her, finding comfort in her volunteer efforts on behalf of animal welfare. Her commitment to giving back deepened through her role as an English language tutor for Cambodian refugees and involvement in programs in which she delivered meals to seniors and took the time to visit and talk, especially at the holidays, when there was so much to say and no one to say it to.
