publisher's letter i'm never surprised but always impressed by the multitude of wonderfully interesting people living in our two communities. Whether they're doctors, scientists, entertainers, businesspeople, educators, or volunteers, the list goes on and on of a diverse group of fascinating people who add so much to our community and all of our lives. It is truly a pleasure to be able to showcase their personalities and accomplishments in the pages of WellesleyWeston Magazine. Our Face to Face department is one way we get to know our residents with an in-depth interview format. In this issue, we sit down with Dr. Sanjiv Chopra, an accomplished doctor and author with wonderful C A R O LY N R O S S wit and a refreshing outlook on life. I thoroughly enjoyed Dr. Chopra's stories about growing up in India with his brother Deepak, the famous doctor. And I was intrigued by Dr. Chopra's passion for teaching leadership skills to young people. I hope he does write a book on leadership for children with his granddaughter Anya. I look forward to reading it! BETH FURMAN I always enjoy reading articles and essays by our readers. Our Forum and Last But Not Least depart- beth @ wellesleywestonmagazine.com ments are ways for you to state your opinions or express yourself creatively with words or art. I encourage all of you to submit your work to our editor for inclusion on these pages. It is also my hope that we will hear more from our young people on these pages. Please send your submissions to Jill Nilsen at jill@wellesleywestonmagazine.com. This issue welcomes spring with some helpful hints and ideas to kick off the season with a refreshing outlook. If you're a parent with school-age children, I hope you'll share our Family Matters article, "Twenty-five Ways to Improve Test Scores," with them. Test taking was never one of my favorite activities, and even though I don't take many tests these days, I picked up several tips that I plan to implement in my everyday life. Many of us think about home improvement projects this time of year, and if a bathroom renovation is in your near future, I know you'll gather many ideas from the experts interviewed in our "Escape to the Master Bathroom" article. And if welcoming spring with a dinner party is on your to-do list, I know you'll be interested in trying some of the delicious appetizer recipes that celebrate the season in our Food and Wine section. I hope that the promise of spring and all of its blossoming beauty bring joy to you and your family and We l l e s l e y We s t o n M a g a z i n e | s p r i n g 2 0 1 3 that you find plenty of inspiration reading this issue.
